Mobile Device Mangement
With the rapid growth in companies using IPads and other mobile devices to streamline the sales and stock search process especially in the retail sector, it is becoming ever more important to centrally administer the content and functionality of those mobile devices.
Faced with distributing 2500 iPads across their retailer network VW UK asked Adept Ltd to undertake an evaluation exercise to find the most effective Mobile Device Management tool to help them control the content that was loaded on the devices and also to ensure that the integrity of the IPads was maintained.
The first part of the project was to undertake a market evaluation of the available products and then put in place a process that captured VW's specific requirements and then compared each tool against that criteria, scoring each provider against VW's needs.
Once the provider was selected then we undertook the planning and rollout phase of the project which enabled the distribution of the iPads across the retailer network.
- Produce requirements matrix
- Review products - this phase will evaluate MDM products and score them against the requirements matrix
- Select MDM provider - formal discussion take place and commercial aspects are reviewed
- Appoint MDM provider - set-up a framework for delivery of the product into the clients commercial environment
- Plan rollout - in conjunction with the selected MDM provider produce a rollout plan into the client network
- Set-up support services to monitor usage of the devices and reporting structure
